I believe this interaction is a hug though it seems more like a snuggle. Sims 2 has a lot more really sweet interactions than Sims 3, I think it may be a more animated face during interactions but I'm not sure. But I love this interaction because it just looks like love. It’s the little things that make the game so fun.
